A few weeks ago art.lebedev studio announced their “new” logo design for the city of Moscow, Russia.

The final result is modern, simple and elegant.
The only problem… It turns Moscow into Macy’s (a relatively large retail operator with annual revenues of about 27 billion).
From the very beginning, Macy’s logo has included a star in one form or another, which comes from a tattoo that Macy got as a teenager when he worked on a Nantucket whaling ship, the Emily Morgan.

To me it seems like a simple, but costly oversight…
